| I know it's been a while since I've blogged anything, but I have gotten the urge lately to begin working on a project. I started thinking that I would like to start writing something on the Book of Revelation. I'm not sure why I feel prompted to do so. Perhaps it is because of recent things I have read in cyberspace, or from conversations I've had with various people, but it seems to me that there is a fundamental misunderstanding as to the purpose of the book at the end of the Bible. To this end, I think I am going to work on a paper and I will be blogging about my studies along the way on this site. My working thesis for the work will be this (note: this thesis may be edited for wording later): "The Book of Revelation is, primarily, not a history of the end of the world and the coming of the New Heaven and New Earth, but rather a letter encouraging Christians under persecution, regardless of time or geographical setting."

| Okay, so the Chicago trip was pretty fun. I haven't been to the Shedd Aquarium since my 22nd birthday and it was still just as amazing as ever. As per usual, it's not as big as a person might think but the time sure flies when you're there. You get done with the exhibits and you think it's not been a long stay at all, and then you find out you were in there 2 hours. It was extremely pleasing that this trip was done with my bride-to-be. She makes everything I do seem better. It was awesome watching her reaction to chillins (there were a lot of them) and seeing the way her face lights up around them. I think it's really a testament to her personality and the things she has a passion for. Speaking of passion, whenever I go to a zoo or the aquarium (especially the latter) I am always amazed at the passion with which God made His creation. I read yesterday about these fish that live in caves where there is no light. There is a bacteria in their eye which, when the eye is opened, actually glow. They make the whole eye glow. This attracts prey to the fish. It's called the (ta da) Flashlight fish. How amazing is that? Also, there's the colors of the Reef fish. The stealth of the sharks, the patterns, the sizes, the shapes. Even more amazing is the fact that God, the Creator, the Exalted One, who sits on the Throne of the Universe, cares for ALL of them, from the largest to the smallest piece of microbes that might live on the back of the smallest fish. It is a truly humbling thought. Anyway, after the aquarium, we headed out to Navy Pier. There wasn't much going on there, so we just had an appetizer at Bubba Gump's, which was quite tasty, btw. If you're ever there, the appetizer sampler is definitely worth the money. After that, we caught a bus up to Watertower Place. Once there, we did some window shopping and a tiny bit of actual shopping. Then we headed over to the Cheesecake Factory (some of which is sitting in the fridge at this very moment, calling my name. Once we were done there, we just walked around a little bit and then headed over to the Red Line to hitch a ride back to Chinatown (where we parked in the morning). Before that, we took a little detour and rode up to Wrigleyville just so i could show Karis a bit of the northern neighborhood from the elevated position offered by the train. All in all it was a pretty great day. The weather could have been better, but it seems like i say that every time I'm in Chicago, so it's nothing new, for sure. Good times, great oldies.

| Phase 1 of the Honeymoon preparations is complete. It's also the largest Phase. I bought the tickets to the island of Oahu on Monday. We are STOKED!! :) | | |
| This past weekend was very fun for me. I did my best to make it fun for Karis, too. Oddly, even though I am almost 28, this was my first ever Valentine's Day date. I haven't ever had one before, and that is great, because my first one was also the first one with my future wife. We started things off Friday night by taking a couple of gifts to my parents. After that we went to the South Bend Chocolate Company for the fondue I've heard about for a long time, but hadn't ever participated in. Not great. You'd be better off just getting some fudge or an assortment of chocolates to sample. Anyway, it ended up being fun, though because Dan and his wife just happened to come in with another couple from Christ's Covenant. Weird. So we all hung out for a while. Saturday, I decided that instead of driving all the way to South Bend again for dinner as was planned, I would cook for Karis. We had spaghetti with a very light and refreshing sauce that I made from scratch. We ate in the candlelight. Later in the evening, we went over to the Wagon Wheel in Warsaw and saw Collin Raye in concert. Pretty good show, to be honest. I wasn't sure if I would like it much, since it was country, but it was definitly not bad. It was a lot of fun and the greatest thing is that it was all done with the love of my life. This weekend I will be working the first of a few weekend shifts to pay for our honeymoon. I can't wait for our first week as Mr. and Mrs. Miller. It's going to be a blast, but there's the whole issue of money and I will work for it gladly, knowing that there is a great reason for it. I'm doing it for us. :)
